Welcome to the STS Waste Tracking System! This app helps you quickly record your daily activities - deliveries, pickups, service work, and weight recordings. Everything you do is tracked and shared with the office in real-time.
What You'll Need
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet
A web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge recommended)
Your email address (for creating an account)
GPS/Location services enabled on your device

⚠️ Important: GPS/Location Required
This system uses your device's GPS to automatically record locations, so you'll need to allow location access when prompted by your browser.
2. Creating Your Account
FIRST TIME USERS - REGISTRATION PROCESS:
Step 1: Go to the Website
Open your web browser
Go to: https://stswastetracking.com
You'll see the login page
Step 2: Start Registration
Look for "Create an account" link at the bottom
Click on it
The registration form will appear
Step 3: Fill Out Registration Form
You'll need to enter:
First Name - Your first name
Last Name - Your last name
Email - Your work or personal email address
Password - Must meet specific requirements (see below)
Confirm Password - Type the same password again
Password Requirements:
Your password MUST have:
✓ At least 8 characters long
✓ At least one lowercase letter (a-z)
✓ At least one UPPERCASE letter (A-Z)
✓ At least one number (0-9)
✓ At least one special character (!@#$%^&* etc.)
Example of a good password:Worker2024!
Step 4: Submit Registration
Double-check all your information
Click "Create Account" button
You'll see a confirmation message
Step 5: Check Your Email
Open your email inbox
Look for an email from Supabase (the system we use)
The subject will be about confirming your account
If you don't see the email within 3 MINUTES:
Check your JUNK/SPAM folder
Check your Promotions folder (if using Gmail)
Wait a few more minutes and refresh your inbox
Click the confirmation link in the email
Step 6: You're Ready!
After clicking the confirmation link, return to https://stswastetracking.com
Log in with your email and password
Start using the system
Important Notes:
✓ Write down your password somewhere safe
✓ Your account must be confirmed via email before you can log in
✓ The confirmation email usually arrives within 1-2 minutes
✓ If you don't receive an email after 5 minutes, contact your supervisor
3. Logging In
Daily Login Process
Open your web browser
Go to: https://stswastetracking.com
Enter your email address (in the Username field)
Enter your password
Click "Login"
You'll be taken to your Employee Dashboard
Forgot Your Password?
If you can't remember your password:
On the login page, click "Forgot password?"
Enter your email address
Click "Send reset email"
Check your email inbox (and junk folder)
Click the reset link in the email
Enter your new password (must meet the same requirements as registration)
Confirm your new password
Click "Set new password"
Return to the login page and log in with your new password
Tips for Smooth Login:
✓ Bookmark https://stswastetracking.com for quick access
✓ Make sure you're typing your email correctly
✓ Passwords are case-sensitive (Capital letters matter!)
✓ If login fails, wait a moment and try again
4. Employee Dashboard Overview
After logging in, you'll see your main dashboard with different options:

Record servicing information

Note:
You may also see options for "Record Weight" and "Reports" depending on your role and what features are enabled.
5. Recording Deliveries (Drop-offs)
Use this when you deliver a dumpster to a customer location.
How to Record a Delivery
Step 1: Navigate to Delivery
From your dashboard, click "Record" under "Delivery"
The delivery form will open
Step 2: Enable Location (First Time Only)
Your browser will ask for permission to use your location
Click "Allow" or "Yes"
This is required to automatically capture GPS coordinates
Step 3: Fill Out the Form
You'll need to enter:
Dumpster Number: The tag/number on the dumpster (e.g., "D-001" or "1234")
Dumpster Size: Select from dropdown (10yd, 15yd, 20yd, or 30yd)
Address/Location: Where you're delivering the dumpster
You can type the address OR
Let the GPS auto-fill your current location
Notes (Optional): Any special information about the delivery
Step 4: Submit the Delivery
Make sure all information is correct
Click the "Submit" or "Record Delivery" button
Wait for the confirmation message
The button will disappear or change after successful submission
What Happens Next:
✓ Your delivery is instantly recorded in the system
✓ The office can see the dumpster on their map immediately
✓ A pin appears on the inventory map showing the exact location
✓ The delivery is logged with date, time, and your information
Important Tips:
✓ Make sure you're AT the delivery location when you record it (GPS captures your exact position)
✓ Double-check the dumpster number before submitting
✓ If you make a mistake, contact your supervisor immediately
✓ Wait for the confirmation before moving to your next job
6. Recording Pickups
Use this when you pick up a dumpster from a customer location.
How to Record a Pickup
Step 1: Navigate to Pickup
From your dashboard, click "Record" under "Pull / Pick Up"
The pickup form will open
Step 2: Fill Out the Form
You'll need to enter:
Dumpster Number: The tag/number on the dumpster you're picking up
Dumpster Size: Select the size (10yd, 15yd, 20yd, or 30yd)
Address/Location: Where you're picking up from
Can type address or use GPS auto-fill
Notes (Optional): Any information about the pickup
Step 3: Submit the Pickup
Verify all information is correct
Click the "Submit" or "Record Pickup" button
Wait for confirmation message
Button will disappear or change after success
What Happens Next:
✓ Pickup is recorded in the system immediately
✓ The dumpster DISAPPEARS from the office inventory map (because it's no longer in the field)
✓ Your pickup is logged with all details
✓ Office knows the dumpster is back in your possession
Important Tips:
✓ Be at the pickup location when recording
✓ Make sure you have the correct dumpster number
✓ Confirm the size matches what you're picking up
✓ Wait for confirmation before leaving the site
7. Recording Service Work
Use this when you service or empty a dumpster at a customer location (without picking it up).
How to Record Service
Step 1: Navigate to Service
From your dashboard, click "Record" under "Service"
The service form will open
Step 2: Fill Out the Form
You'll need to enter:
Dumpster Number: The tag/number of the dumpster you serviced
Notes: Describe what service you performed
Examples: "Emptied dumpster", "Swapped with clean unit", "Repaired lid", "Customer requested early service"
Step 3: Submit the Service Record
Review your information
Click "Submit" or "Record Service" button
Wait for confirmation
What Happens Next:
✓ Service is logged in the system
✓ Office can see when and where service was performed
✓ Dumpster stays on the map (because it's still at the customer)
✓ Your service notes are saved for office records
When to Use Service:
When you empty a dumpster but leave it at the customer
When you swap out a dumpster with another one
When you perform repairs or maintenance on-site
Any time you visit a dumpster but don't pick it up
8. Recording Weight
Use this feature when you record the weight/tonnage of a load.
How to Record Weight
Step 1: Navigate to Record Weight
From your dashboard, look for "Record Weight" option
Click to open the weight form
Step 2: Fill Out the Form
You'll need to enter:
Dumpster Number: The tag/number of the dumpster
Weight: The weight in tons or pounds (as instructed by your supervisor)
Notes (Optional): Any relevant information
Step 3: Submit
Verify the information
Click "Submit" or "Record Weight" button
Wait for confirmation
What Happens Next:
✓ Weight is logged in the system
✓ Office has the tonnage information for billing
✓ Weight appears in the logs with date and time
✓ Information is used for customer invoicing
Tips:
✓ Record weight as soon as you get the ticket from the scale
✓ Double-check numbers before submitting
✓ Keep paper tickets as backup if required by your company
✓ Make sure you're using the correct dumpster number
9. Viewing Messages from Management
Your supervisor or office staff can send you important messages through the system.
How to Check Messages
Step 1: Access Messages
From your dashboard, click "View Messages" under "Messages"
Your messages page will open
Step 2: View Your Messages
You'll see a list of all messages
New messages are marked as "UNREAD" or highlighted
Each message shows:
Date and time sent
Message content
Who sent it (usually "Admin" or office staff)
Step 3: Read a Message
Click on a message to open it
Read the full content
The message automatically marks as "READ"
What to Do with Messages
Read all new messages at the start of your shift
Check messages throughout the day for updates
Follow any instructions in the messages
If a message requires a response, contact your supervisor directly (You cannot reply through the system - call or text them)

Important:
✓ Check messages at least 2-3 times per day
✓ Read all messages marked as "UNREAD"
✓ Messages stay in your inbox for your reference
✓ Print or save important messages if needed
✓ If you don't understand a message, ask your supervisor
10. Tips and Best Practices
Daily Routine Suggestions
Start of Shift:
Log in to the system
Check messages for any updates or special instructions
Make sure GPS/location is enabled on your device
Keep the website bookmarked for quick access throughout the day
During Your Shift:
Record each delivery IMMEDIATELY after dropping off
Record each pickup RIGHT AWAY at the customer location
Don't wait until later - record while you're there
Double-check dumpster numbers before submitting
Check messages periodically for updates
End of Shift:
Make sure all activities are recorded
Review your day's work if needed
Check messages one last time
Log out when completely done
Accuracy Tips
For Best Results:
Always be AT the location when recording (GPS accuracy)
Enter dumpster numbers exactly as they appear on the tag
Select the correct size (look at the dumpster if unsure)
Add notes for anything unusual or important
Wait for confirmation before moving on
Dumpster Numbers:
Write them down if hard to read
Take a photo of the tag if needed
Ask for help if you can't find the number
Double-check before submitting
GPS/Location:
Enable location services before starting your day
If GPS isn't working, close and reopen your browser
Make sure you have cell service or WiFi
Stay at the location until submission is confirmed
Device Tips
Battery Management:
Keep your device charged
Carry a car charger
Close other apps to save battery
Bookmark the site so it loads faster
Internet Connection:
System works on cellular data or WiFi
If you have no signal, wait until you do before submitting
Don't force it - wait for stable connection
Record info on paper if needed and enter later when online
Browser Tips:
Use Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge
Keep your browser updated
Clear cache if page looks broken
Refresh page if it's not loading properly
Security
Keep Your Account Safe:
Never share your password with anyone
Log out on shared devices
Change your password if you think it's compromised
Report any suspicious activity to your supervisor
11. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
Problem: Can't create an account / Registration fails
Solutions:
Make sure your password meets ALL requirements (8+ chars, lowercase, uppercase, number, special char)
Make sure both password fields match exactly
Use a valid email address
Try a different browser if it keeps failing
Problem: Didn't receive confirmation email
Solutions:
Wait at least 3 minutes
Check your JUNK/SPAM folder thoroughly
Check Promotions or Updates folder (Gmail)
Search your email for "Supabase" or "confirm"
Make sure you entered your email correctly during registration
Try registering again with the same email (it may resend)
Contact your supervisor if still no email after 10 minutes
Problem: Can't log in / "Invalid credentials" error
Solutions:
Make sure you confirmed your email (check inbox/junk)
Verify you're using your EMAIL address (not a username)
Check that password is typed correctly (case-sensitive)
Make sure Caps Lock is off
Try the "Forgot password?" link to reset
Contact supervisor if account issues persist
Problem: GPS/Location not working
Solutions:
Check that location services are enabled on your device
Allow location access when browser prompts you
On iPhone: Settings > Safari > Location > Allow
On Android: Settings > Site Settings > Location > Allow
Try closing and reopening your browser
Make sure you have good GPS signal (step outside if indoors)
Problem: Can't submit delivery/pickup
Solutions:
Check your internet connection
Make sure all required fields are filled in
Verify dumpster number is entered correctly
Make sure you selected a size from the dropdown
Refresh the page and try again
Check that location permission is granted
Try a different browser
Problem: Wrong information submitted
Solutions:
Contact your supervisor or office IMMEDIATELY
Tell them what was wrong (wrong number, location, etc.)
They can make corrections in the system
Don't try to "fix it" by submitting again
Learn from the mistake and double-check next time
General Troubleshooting Steps
REFRESH THE PAGE - Press F5 (computer) or pull down (mobile) - Often fixes temporary glitches
CHECK INTERNET CONNECTION - Make sure you have WiFi or cellular data
RESTART YOUR BROWSER - Close completely and reopen
TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER - Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge
RESTART YOUR DEVICE - Turn it off and back on
CONTACT YOUR SUPERVISOR - If nothing works after trying above steps

The system isn't working at all
